Hdg, Alt, IAS, settings problem

Postby flipside » Thu Jan 01, 2009 7:50 pm

How do I get heading and airspeed settings to change by ones and not by tens and altitude settings to change by 100s and not by 1,000s?

Which aeroplane are you using, flipside?

The settings work different ways in different aeroplanes. Sometimes you have to click on a specific digit - for example, if the setting is '3,000' click on the nought end, not the '3' end.......

Some downloads do have that sort of problem, though. Usually the answer is to use the mouse wheel for small adjustments, instead of clicking.

That didn't work. Now what? CamSim Boeing797 American Airlines with the 787 Panel by Marco Spada on pg. 24 in FS2004 Panel downloads. I did this because the aircraft really is a 787. The 797 has four engines. :( :( :(

Downloaded the ac and new panel. Had the same problem, apparently it's in the autopilot gauge coding? I fixed it by substituting the default 737 autopilot:

In the panel.cfg, look in the [window00] section for gauge33=. Disable the line by adding 2 slashes as below (referred to as 'commenting')

//gauge33=Fab737_ap,

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Hi flipside,

There's another way to fix your problem. Peter Dowson offers a program called FSUIPC that will fix your gauges. You can get the program at

http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html

If this interests you, be sure to get "FSUIPC for FS2004", version 3.85. It requires a certain amount of reading to get it set up, but isn't difficult. The item to check that fixes the AP is called "Fix control acceleration". The documentation explains what that means.

I'm not sure of this, but you may need to register the software for a few Euros in order to use this particular fix.

Please let us know if this was of any help.

Regards,
