Ack!

I think I's seen this come up before...

I just installed a graphics card, GForce FX 5200, Installed the drivers, and this is the result.

Yetch! (It also turned FSX into a slide show with *everything* turned to minumum, except for the aircraft rendering.

If you want it, I'll give you my PCI Nv FX5500 256Mb! I don't use it anymore, and it just sits in my old system wasting away.

If your 100% postitive that's the problem, what would you recommend that doesn't cost more than say, $100.00 USD?

Shane, I  might get back to you on that offer.  :)

Not my area of expertise, but I did find these:

For under a hundred, this is what I use and have no problems with any game I've put through it: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... CatId=1826

At a hundred is this 8800gt: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... CatId=3670

That doesn't even look as good as what I sometimes get when I take a screenshot between frames. I get the wings and wheels and nothing else, or the passenger deck and the flight deck, and nothing else......

As luck would have it, a friend if mine that assembles PCs on the side had a Graphics board that he let go for "cheap".  Again, it's probably "low end", but better than the PNY card.

It's a GeForce 8400 GS with 512mb ddrs2.

Installed and everything seems to work better, except I'm still having severe frame rate problems in both fs9 and fsx, though not near as bad as with the other card.

I'm stuill trying to wrap my brain around the fact that I had much better frame rates at much highter details setting without a video card.  I used to run FS9 with virtually every slider full right, and the only times I had any stuttering was around large cities like NY, with lots of traffic, or around Pirate Island.

On the other hand, the aircfaft are showing up great!  Shading used to always be on the barely noticible side.
