In-Progress Heads Up: New Aircraft

Postby Sean_TK » Wed Oct 15, 2008 5:50 pm

If anyone here cares, it looks like we will finally have a BAE 146 with a virtual cockpit for FS2004!

http://www.alliedfsgroup.com/forum/view ... p?f=3&t=65

Brought to you by the people who created the NAMC YS-11, Beech King Air 200, and most recently, the Sud Caravelle.

It looks like it will be an absolutely great release, and I'm sure it will be incredibly popular as well. No release dates given, but hopefully we can expect it in a few months!  ;)

Me too.....but I don't WANT a virtual cockpit in a plane........ hopefully it has a 2-d one too.... that I can disable.  I HAVE a cockpit....and it's fake but it ain't "virtual".   ;)

best,

Pity it's not an FSX/SP2 model...

Yeah...that is what I do, and then get rid of the in-sim panels.  That gives me the windscreen view.... with the rain/snow effects on it.  But if the plane ONLY has a virtual cockpit... I don't know how to get rid of that.

And when I FINALLY make the move to FSX...... a long time from now.... I HOPE that someone has a good 146-200 for THAT.

best,

You could always just add the freeware "dsd_view_skip.gau" with the appropriate cfg change, to skip the VC view or whatever you want when switching views.

Example for disabling the activation of the VC view when switching views, go in panel.cfg of aircraft, and add the gauge, replacing the x's with the next number.

gaugeXX=dsd_view_skip!no_vc,

Sean,

Ah - I wondered when PH's updated version would be getting close to release. I contacted him early last year about it and he said that it was in the works, but good to see it moving forward. His current version for me has the edge over the Murchison/HJG exterior models.

By the look of the discussion in the forum you linked to, it looks like it's designed for FS9 and will have a panel, so John will be able to adapt it to his pit.

I'm looking forward to seeing it.

;)

Microlight, yes, it looks like it will have pretty much everything a perfect aircraft simulation needs. I'm sure it will be a fun release.

JBaymore, sorry, it totally slipped my mind that you had your own cockpit setup since I don't communicate with you often (at least that's what it seems like).
I hope that you can use my gauge suggestion though, it works for pretty much every FS2004 aircraft in existence with one simple panel.cfg edit, and I believe that it will solve what you are trying to accomplish, by being able to automatically skip over the VC section in your views cycle.
