Jagged edges in FS9 OK in FSX ?

Postby GAJ52 » Mon Oct 13, 2008 4:40 pm

I have set up my Nvidia drivers (178.13) using NHancer as per NickN's guide.

Hi and welcome to Simviation. Nice computer specs you've got.

I'm no expert but did you try to disable SLI mode? As far as I know FS9 doesn't use SLI graphics cards.

Hi Crash

I've tried it with and without SLi, makes no difference  :(

One thing I should point out in NHancer I have only applied Nick's settings to the FSX Profile not FS2004 but I did use Profile and Global, so I assume the Nvidia driver should be setup to these settings all the time, if I load FSX or FS2004.  I do not keep NHancer in the task bar after the initial setting up as recommended by Nick.

Well, it seems logical to me that you should edit the FS2004 profile as well, don't you think ?

Yes and no. In fact, since a FS2004 profile exists, it will be used instead of the Global profile. How is your FS2004 profile set ? If it's set exactely like the Global (that you have modified), then there's a problem.

Daube

You were right it must have loaded the FS2004 profile over the Global one.  I loaded Nick's settings into both FSX and FS2004, Profile and Global and now FS2004 is as smooth as FSX.

Thanks for your help  :)

I don't run FSX anymore, but I am interested in getting the sharpest, clearest screen images I can. Where is this "profile" and how do I jiggle it?
My system: AMD Phenom 9500 cpu, 2 x eVGA e-GeForce 8800GTS Superclocked vidcards (640Mb DDR3 each), Zalman "sunflower" 9700 fan, Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 mobo, 4Gb G.Skill PC2-6400 DDR2 800Mhz RAM, 2 x Sony 20X DVD writers, Thermaltake Toughpower 8
