Display Problems

Postby Dendoe » Sun Oct 12, 2008 8:57 am

Recently I have started having probs with FS9 and FS5. The flight starts off smoothly OK, but after a few minutes starts jumping and freezing briefly, and the sound starts breaking up. This is happening on all Sims and games. I am fairly new to this pastime so if any help or advice could come my way it would be appreciated. As a point of interest I had extra RAM installed recently from 512 to 1280 mb.It ran fine after installation, so I am a loss what to try. :-?

1280 is an odd RAM number.

Have you mixed types of RAM? If your machine is dual-channel, you must use two each of the same size RAM sticks. They must also be the same speed. I can't speak to the latency question, because I don't know about that. There are those in these pages who do. Setting course for the Hardware forum and asking over there might be a good place to start.
My system: AMD Phenom 9500 cpu, 2 x eVGA e-GeForce 8800GTS Superclocked vidcards (640Mb DDR3 each), Zalman "sunflower" 9700 fan, Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 mobo, 4Gb G.Skill PC2-6400 DDR2 800Mhz RAM, 2 x Sony 20X DVD writers, Thermaltake Toughpower 8
