Presetting aircraft prior to sim start.

Hello!

We all know of course that it's easy enough to start 'cold and dark'; but there are some functions of the aircraft that are not saved from mission to mission.

For instance; when the sim starts the magnetos in IC engines are always on and set to 'both', and the master fuel valve is equally always on.

It's a relatively minor thing; but I couldn't help wondering if its possible to set the default position of these and other functions to 'off' prior to the sim starting?

I just tried it with the default Baron, and it worked for me.  :-/

What I did was set it to "cold and dark" , making sure all switches were turned off before I saved the flight, then I saved it and exited the sim. After I restarted the sim and loaded the saved flight, all was right as I left it.

Are you having this problem with all aircraft,  or only add-ons?

As I remember the is some sort of "Cold and Dark" gauge that you can install that takes care of this kind of thing.  Can't remember the details though.  Do a search.

Just off all the switches you can find, save your flight as default and restart the sim. That's all. Every flight you start will be very cold and dark.

Yes, I'm familiar witrh cold and dark; all my sims start in that manner. As
Ground suggested I tried a variety of default and addon aircraft and the results vary - the Baron works just like you said, but it's about the only one that does - everything else with an IC engine (s) leave either the fuel or magnetos on or both.

Oh well - my primary plane is that marvellous C-150 that just came out. Since I always start outside the aircraft, it's not problem at all to assign a key to the fuel valve and hit it before stepping into the cockpit.
