Micro stutters tweaking

Postby sonic » Fri Sep 05, 2008 8:41 am

I tried fsX just to much for my hardware, after a complete format of the OS and reinstall of fs9 I have alot of microsutters in most areas I had this ironed out before but with so many tweaks and info on this I kinda get lost in the sea o tweaks.  :) and I forgot what I did  :D I flipped thru the FAQ and hardware, tweaking sections, but what is the best fs9.cfg tweaks more directly related to the microstutters. I now that this a never ending battle sometimes. I have not defragged per Nicks advice wait untill everything is intalled and defrag last.

I would imagine not defragging would be part of your problem, so go ahead and do it. If you add a lot of addons later, just do it again if you need to, it shouldn't harm anything if you do it multiple times....(at least with my computer...)

If your hard drive is fragmented, your going to get the stutters as the program needs to sort through an incoherent mess/order of program files in order to find what it needs. Defragging will make it easier for the system to access the right files in FS when it needs them, thus loading what it needs faster.
