Korce Northwest, Albania

An unbelievable airport with a grass runway and obstacles all around it. They are thousands of feet high. I managed to succesfully takeoff in a Baron 58 and avoid the obstacles. And I tried to takeoff in a Cessna 172 and I was climbing in Vx but I crashed in the obstacles. I got a few hundreds of feet to go. I tried to circle around while climbing to remain in the obstacles but I didn't make it. I don't believe it's like this in RL. It would be just too risky.

See if you can takeoff up here. If you can takeoff up here in a Cessna 172 then you can takeoff everywhere. ;)
And landing? Even harder. :o If anyone is interested in this "challenge", then try to takeoff and land in a Cessna 172.

.... ;D...!

The flight Sim is littered with these "Holes in the ground" Airfields....

We all encounter them at different times. Generally a fault in the Scenery Mesh calculations...
Often occurs due to a clash between the Default Mesh, and add-on Mesh.

Sometimes the Airfield appears on top of a plateau above the surrounding ground... :o...!

Either way...we just have to put up with it...makes things interesting!....;)...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004..FS Navigator... 8-)...!

The only way to get out of the "Hole" is to (Y) Slew...and (Q) lift... :)...!
A fiddle, but it works... ;)...!

Interesting "hole"... A challenge to get in and out, but not impossible...

I managed to get out in the 172: 16 galons of fuel (plenty enough to get me to the next closest airport), taking off using "short filed" technique. Start the takeoff run way back from the runway treshold, almost back to the cliff (is that cheating? it's a grass runway anyway!). 10

Not very much different from trying to fly a F15/Mirage 2000 off an aircraft carrier. U just have to push it to full throttle, hold the brakes until it cannot hold the aircraft anymore, significant amount of flaps and then pull the stick up at soon as the plane moves to a speed above 50knts ::)

Yes, I forgot to write down the "brake" part in my "short takeoff" procedure. Not sure if it makes much of a difference in the FS2004 172, though, as these 172 brakes don't really keep the airplane from moving at full throttle...
