FDSFX Help please

Postby Kilroyshr » Mon May 05, 2008 3:52 pm

I recently downloaded (twice, to be sure I followed every step) this program. And while it looks like they were followed. For some reason, when I go to open it, all I see is a blank box. Almost as if there isn't anything there. Just this black box. Could anyone help me, or steer me in the right direction on this? Thanks, this one's been bugging me.  :P

Just to start with the basics, you remembered to put the ONE, loose texture in the download, in the panel folder of the plane you want to use it with?

This is the list of items that are in my panel folder.

737_compass.BMP
737_Panel_Decals_2.bmp
FDSFX.bmp
main_640.bmp
main_1024.bmp
panel.cfg
upper_640.bmp

I pasted all the gauges from that folder into the Flight Simulator 9\Gauges folder.  Then  altered the panel.cfg file to have the new lines into it in their respective locations. Following the FDSFX panel config text.txt says to. So it makes me wonder did I miss some image file?

Thanks a ton for the help. I've been beating my head into the departure gate trying to figure this out.

Hmm, looks like you've got it right.

How about this:

[Window[glow=yellow,2,300]XX[/glow]]
file=FDSFX.bmp
size_mm=500
position=0
visible=0
ident=122757

gauge00=FDSFX_01_gate!switch,

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

That did it. I knew it had to be something I was missing. Figures it would be something right in front of my face. Thanks a bunch, that banging my head against the wall was giving me a headache.

Thanks guy for helping Kilroyshr out on this issue.  I recently closed the email address listed in the FDSFX README.txt file.  It was getting too much spam.

But if anyone else has questions regarding FDSFX you can email me at socalclutch@gmail.com.  ;)

Once I got everything working right, I added it to the other aircraft I wanted to use it and it works like a charm. I highly recommend it. It really does put more realism into it.
