FS Display Problem

Postby Jersey Flyer » Sun Aug 10, 2008 11:24 am

Okay, so this is what my normal screen looks like after starting FS.

Here's my problem. After I go to select aircraft->aircraft type->cessna-> cessna 172. Here is what my aircraft looks like AFTER.

This problem occurs with ALL of my aircrafts, and including my add on scenery. Does any one have any idea whats happening?

Here are my Specs btw.

Looks fine to me... ;)...!

My selected Aircraft just slowly rotates, with the reflected light changing as it rotates, from light to dark...

What actually is the problem?

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004... 8-)...!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

The actuall problem is my after selecting my aircraft, the aircraft turns DARK.

Notice the aircraft in the first picture is lighter in color in the first picture and the second, they just turn DARK.

Looks perfect to me...

Its because the light source is shining on the OTHER SIDE of the Fuselage...

...the aircraft should be ROTATING, which is the reason for the light changing!!

The Top one here is the Normal Cessna when I first load FS.

Image

The bottom one is after I choose an aircraft, the aircraft appears much darker.

Does this happen inside the game when the sun reflects of your aircraft?

Now wait till the aircraft has rotated 90 degrees and it should appear light again.....with the Fuselage now facing the light source again!

Paul.... :o...!

The aircraft should appear alternately light and dark as it rotates around the fixed light source...

As far as I know, that's the way it works.  As long as it works in the sim, I do not see the second page (after you've picked the AC) being darker as anything to be concerned about.

Mine stays the same.  Maybe my "Fly Now" pages' light bulb has burned out? :o

I think it might be your environment bmp or so. Do you have any environmental addons? Try Real Environment Pro and add the reflective textures addon from it. See if it will work.  ;)

If the aircraft and scenery is too "Dark" in the Sim, maybe you haven't got your Desktop Colour/Brightness/Contrast settings adjusted correctly?

Paul... 8-)...!

My selected Aircraft  definitely rotates (animation) around the fixed light source....alternatively light and dark...;)...!

Maybe.. Good thinking :)

but if they were too dark, then I think my aircrafts would appear dark to begin with. They appear normal when I first load them.

...and then they become "Dark" in the Sim? ....even in mid-day, clear sky, broad daylight??
