Effects question

Postby chrism7262 » Fri Aug 01, 2008 10:18 pm

this may have been asked before, but with some of my addons both payware anf freeware, ive had a problem with the effects going on when the sircraft lights are turned on. for example, the afterburner and wingtip contrails go on only when all the lights are turned on. and when the lights are turned on, the AB and contrails stay on too, even if the throttle is at idle and at level flight. this happens with a few that i know of, and they include kirks F-16, the freeware T-45 Ghoshawk, IRIS's MiG-29, and the freeware F-5E and F-20 packages.

any help on how to fix it would be great.

thanks in advance!  ;)

Usually, the effects are tied to lights or smokesystem.

Did you notice when this happened? Was it after a particular  installation? If so, you could try uninstalling to see if the problam goes away.

Some of the more advanced payware and freeware effects systems are often tied to custom gauges that turn effects on or off in the lights or smokesystems depending on aircraft engine or environment conditions, so it may be that some of those are misplaced and therefore not working properly.
