BIG Fs- 2004 Problem.

Postby Mooneypilot1993 » Wed Jul 16, 2008 1:35 pm

Hey guys, well i have another problem. This time its Major. When i click the Fs-2004 icon on my desktop, you know how you get that little loading screen until eventually it takes you into the sim. Well mine's sitting here in the loading screen and not going into the sim itself.
Please can anyone help me. I have my scenery looking so good that i dont want to uninstall the sim. :'(

...because of all my add-ons, mine takes quite a while to load up...

...is your Hard Drive light flickering...showing "something" is happening?

Do a Ctrl+Alt+Delete and peek at the "Task Manager" Flight Sim activity...

...does it say"Not responding"?

How long do you allow it to run? Did you install anything new? and can you tell us something about the specs of your computer?

Well heres another weird thing. The uninstaller is gone. Now i have to take out everything in the FS9 folder and delete it. I kept my aircraft folder though.
If any can help me please do.
Maybe somebody can make a copy of their uninstaller and send it to me.

Insert the first FS 2004 Sim Install Disk...

The option to Un-Install is on there...!

Paul...G-BPLF...!

P.S. Tell it NOT to remove all your add-ons of you don't want to loose them!

Whatever you do NEVER delete programs which were meant to be Un-Installed. It messes up the Windows Registry!

Fozzer when i inserted disk one and went into theu uninstaller it wouldnt work so i had to delete every file except my aircraft file which when the sim's done installing i will replace the default one with the one i have 348 PLANES in it! Ugghhh guys, many thanks for helping me im just emotional over this silly thing. It actually brought me to tears lol. Its installing right now and ill just have to put my Aircraft back into, Make sure the darn thing works, Set up my Saitek and pedals, and reinstall all my scenery. And this couldnt have happened at a worser time since my Dad is using the sim as some IFR practice.
Lots and lots of sobs :'( :'(

How long do you allow it to run? My FS9 takes a whopping 20 MINUTES to fully load up, then another 10 to load up the aircraft.

As I mentioned earlier... ;)...

If it's taking a long time to load , have a peek at your Hard Drive Light!....

If it is flickering, then you know that the program is working correctly, and the required data is all being loaded!

Paul...G-BPLF... 8-)...!

Watch the Hard Drive Light...!

What happens if you haven't got one? :P

It's a tad late now but the first thing I would have tried is to delete fs9.cfg. That can solve all sorts of problems.

Funny thing is...

All the Computers I have built up over the past 15 years have all been fitted with a Hard Drive indicator light, in addition to the Power On light.
Most Motherboards contain, as standard, connection pins to feed these lights, which are very useful in indicating the state of the computer at a glance.
That magic light will often indicate programs you may be unaware of, running in the background, (Security updates, Anti-virus programs, etc), which sometimes interrupts what you are trying to load, or run... :(...!

Fortunately, for me I always construct, and use "Desk-Top" computers, which allow me quick access, in front of me, to all the front panel control buttons, indicator lights, and CD/DVD/Floppy Disk drawers... :-*...!

That little HDD indicator light always tell you if something is "Happening"........or not!.... ;D...!

Paul.... :)...!

As long as I can see those little indicator lights every day, I know I am still in the Land of the Living... [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]...!

.... ;D....!

P.S. ..if you are still getting the Ctrl+Alt+Delete report "Not Responding", then further investigation is required... :'(...!
