That list is for system tweaking.. it has nothing to do with FS9/FSX.. its what you do to help those apps run better

as for FS9 config tweaks AFTER you do that system tune list..

FS9 CONFIGURATION FILE REBUILD

Save a copy of your current FS9.cfg file in a safe place. Then DELETE the FS9.cfg file being used by the sim.

Start Flight Simulator. You will be starting clean with a new FS9.cfg file Let the sim boot and go to the SETTINGS area. Make the following changes:

Sweet. I assumed the system tweaks should work regardless of the sim being used, but I thought I should ask just in case (because I know how to spell assume). Thanks again!

Cool, that's what I was looking for, thanks Nick!

Does anyone know if scenery addons must be installed in any particular order for FS9?  The addons I use are FSGenesis, Flight Environment, Ground Environment and Ultimate Terrain.

I would like to do a clean install of FS9.  My system is already optimized for FSX according to Nick's Stickies.  I just want to know if there's anything special I need to do specific to FS9.

Yes, rule of thumb is mesh first, then landclass and scenery last. After that you can install your utilities and aircraft.
Make sure that you start the sim and make a short flight to check if everything went OK after you installed an add-on. Only then proceed to the next add-on

I just want to know if there's anything special I need to do specific to FS9.

Basically everything you need to do is 'special'. For instance you need to fiddle with your cfg files to get balanced performance. And that is just one thing.

I don't run FSX so I can't fill you in on the details but I know that there are a lot of very knowledgable people in here that can help you with that ...

Thanks Harold.

So just to be sure, because I've never used FSGenesis before.  After purchase, I have a list of numerous terrains from all over the world in different resolutions.  I must first install the terrain I wish to use, then install flight environment, ground environment and ultimate terrain.

I would install the FSGenesis mesh first, then the Ultimate Terrain series, Ground Environment and Flight Environment last.

Idealy you'd want to install any sceneries you have, after you've installed the aforementioned add-ons.

If you need anything just send me a PM or e-mail ;)
