Ground Refresh

Postby cloud9 » Thu Apr 03, 2008 11:12 pm

When in FS9.....everything maxed, my ground won't refresh past a certain point.  This is especially annoying when taking horizon shots.  see example:

Any ideas on how to fix this???

Thanks again

Are you sure your ground texture is maxed?  :-? Your system should be ble to handle FS9 quite nicely.

Go to display/settings - there's a check box for extended terrain textures - make sure this is ticked.

...looks quite normal to me...

Its what I would expect, with the amount of Mist/Fog/Sun glare, etc, showing in the distance.

That's what it looks life in "real life"...;)...!

My scenery gets progressively more clear and distinct as I get closer and closer to it.... :)...!

Everything appearing "clear" as far as the eye can see, is most un-natural...!

Stand on top of a tall building and note how far you can see clearly into the distance...not very far, on most days!...;)...!

For realism, set your "distance" to 2-5 miles Max...;)...!

Paul...G-BPLF... 8-)...!

...I would suspect that a1, living in downtown Los Angeles, can barely see 3 Feet in front of him on most days of the Week... ;D...!

P.S....I like your realistic "Cloud" effects...;)...!

There is a set of parameters in the FS9.cfg that deals with this, but I'm not sure which ones they are anymore.

I agree with Fozzer but if you have noticed a sudden change in your scenery, then it could be caused by something you have loaded or changed recently?
I also love the cloud textures you are using. Awsome!

Best.

Check out that old thread. Read through the whole thing before applying changes.

Your issue more then likely does have to do with "extend terrain textures".

I don't see any problem in that photo other than the visibility not being unlimited, which still looks great. I wish my sim looked that good.

Looks like a bit of a foggy or hazy day to me, with the sun just beginning to sink below the cloudcover. I think it's an OK shot...
