Buccaneer S2 package

Postby sammach » Wed Mar 26, 2008 5:40 am

Hello, I refer to the HS Buccaneer S2, FS2004 Military Page 168, I have downloaded and installed, the models are very good and detailed, only problem the aircraft is not stable and will not fly straight and level, no matter what.
I have tried to get on to the UKMIL site and forum, but i think there is some thing wrong with the site, I am unable to access.
As anyone had the same problem, maybe there is some adjustment that can be done to the elevator trim set up in the aircraft cfg file. i would be very grateful to any sugestions.

I'm having the same problem. Even with max (up) trim the aircraft won't climb correctly. The autopilot(?) can't cope either. The situation seems better the faster you go. I've tried reducing the fuel load to 50%. Doesn't seem to make much difference.
Can't help thinking I'm missing something. Sure is a nice looking plane.

Commoner where are you? Help. ;)

Best.

OK...
I changed the "Elevator_Trim_Effectiveness=1.0000 to 2.0000 in the flight tuning section of the Aircraft.cfg and it appears to have improved things a bit.
Still testing.

I finally settled on 2.5000 which certainly makes it more flyable but I'm still not sure this is the way forward.
Any more ideas anybody?

Thanks Zaphod for your time and attention, I will copy your suggestions, I have also managed to get on the UKMil site I have left a message on their forum, I will comeback with any info, I think you agree the aircraft package is really good, panel and sound, seems a pity to slip up on aircraft stability.

Surely not the answer you were looking for, but AlphaSim has released thier "Buc" as freeware. If you can't get this one fixed up, it might be worth lookong into.

Thanks Groundbound1 I have the Alphasim freeware its good but this package as more Aircraft .

I have been onto UKMil site and have two answers, one saying that he has the two versions  for FS2004 and FSX  and the aircraft fly perfect, I agree about the FSX version. the other answer questions sensativity setttings on my PC.
            I will keep you informed

I followed Zaphod`s instructions the aircraft definitely flys better it now reponds to trim changes, my thanks to Zaphod.
the UKMIL site Forum reckon its my settings on my PC, I have respectfully answered by saying I have downloaded hundreds of aircraft I have two flt sims on two different PCs, and I have never encountered instability as severe, however i will investigate all suggestions. Tonight i was hampered because we had a power cut in this part of Derbyshire, I was actually flying the Buccaneer after carrying Zaphod`s instuctions, when all went black, I have since restarted and all is well, no data lost, is this usual or am I just lucky.
Also if you guys are all getting bored with this, just say the word.

I can't see how it can be the set up on your PC as I'm having the same problems and I haven't seen this with any other a/c. What I can't believe is that after all of the hard work in developeing such a good aircraft the flight model is apparently wrong.
I still can't help thinking there's a much simpler explaination, but it's eluding me.

Best.

Thanks Zaphod for your help, without your input I would have had a great set of aircraft that would just crash, as soon as you let go of the joystick. your amendment to the cfg files means I can now fly these aircraft.
If you go on to the ukmil forum you will see my post,I use the same user name, you will also see everyone telling me its my sytem, I have been very polite so far, I would like to stay that way, but as you say if my settings are out how am I able to fly all the other aircraft on my sim.The administrator has asked me to post the updated cfg file I could`nt post the file, why i am not sure, I sent a email message to the administrator with file attached, I am waiting for a reply, i will not hold my breath.
thanks for all your help, and thanks to simaviation for a great forum, without this forum i really would be tearing my hair out
