A whole lotta problems...

...need help!

Usually I can figure this stuff out on my own, but right now it's just weird.  I've got two major problems...

First of all, anti aliasing seems to have stopped working.  I use nHancer but just uninstalled it to see if it would help....I set all the AA settings using the nVidia control panel and tell it to override the application setting.  When I first load the sim the aircraft in the preview window looks fine, but when I actually load into the sim (hit Fly Now!) there's no visible AA and my performance is amazing (around 60 fps!).  Don't get me wrong, I dont mind it too bad, it runs well and I don't take screenshots anymore, but it's weird!   I can turn it on and it looks amazing and FPS drop to 20 or so and jump from 20 to 15 or so which isn't bad but it isn't smooth like I like.

That's not the main issue...the BIG problem is lock ups, and they seem to happen when changing viewpoints.  The entire computer locks.  Basically I'll switch from spot to cockpit or cockpit to virtual cockpit and the sim seems to freeze.  The mouse pointer is still moving but not clicking anything and no keypresses seem to do anything (I tried clicking the whatchamacallit that brings up the start menu, doesnt work) and when I hit CTRL+ALT+DELETE the entire computer just freezes!  The mouse stops responding and I cant do anything and have to just hold down the power button.

I'm going to try to delete the cfg and let it regenerate and see if that helps, but to be honest I dont think that's the problem.  I think it may be related to Vista SP1 because that's the only significant change I've made in the last few days.  Now it could be a gauge issue, but I doubt it because I tried the sim with planes that I know work and...well...it still froze.

Any suggestions?  Or has anyone experienced any similar problems since installing SP1?

A lot of people have reported issues with SP1 causing problems with their computers much like you describe. It seems to affect any machine with an Intel processor. My guess is to start there.
