Looking for additional Fs2004 Experience

Postby neversommer » Tue Feb 19, 2008 7:44 pm

Hello guys

Took me a while to find a good website with an active forum.
After 3 years I decided to reinstall fs2004 as FSX does not run that well in full glory on my machine.

Anyhow. I am pretty tyred of the panels of the standard ones in fs2004. I have some POSKY planes that but use the standard panels. I used before PSS planes or PMDG but their machines are to hard to use I found out.

I am looking for high quality planes with good functioning panels, such as the top panel like in the 737-800 in FSX where I have all the switches like smoking and seat belt and the rest.
Just so that I have the whole cockpit to use.

Wingviews would be also nice to have.

Most importantly me and my friend are willing to spend up to 700$ of software to make our fs2004 experience as close as possible to FSX.

We need high quality planes with full animation, lighting, panels, switches and so on. Planes would be mostly commercial and jetplanes such as business jets and multi engines and maybe a plane like in FSX that can land on water that big blue one in the tutorial I can't remember the name of it,looks like a plane to extungish fire or something.

As well we need to have better environment. More detail and objects mostly in the US but also Australia or europe would be awesome.

We have allready ActiveSky 6.5 for weather effects but the ocean graphics with that blue coral water I can't find anything for FS2004. Would ultimate terrain be the only option?

And something to increase the traffic in the sky a bit more.

Here the overview.

Environment
( Objects,airports,Water effects,Buildings.)USA preferable

Planes
(Everything but fighter jets in the highest possible detail, including planes with water landing option, wingview, flex wings, plane damage optional.)

Panels
( Need everything working with switches and so forth, smoking switch and seat belt with sound effects.)

Traffic !

If anyone would know a website or would know someone who is doing high quality aircrafts or the like or the rest please let me know :)

Sorry for the long post but we really want the best flight experience that comes as close to FSX as possible.

Thank you :)

Regards

Well if your looking for a nice 737-800 with all switches etc working. Then just go to over to avsim type in AS738.zip. It's one of the best freeware planes I've come across for working switches even includes checklists ;) although there is no VC  :'(

Hope you like it

No need to go to any other site. We have, bar none, the best freeware aircraft out there.

there vare really too many to mention. It would be good to start with a search for 'virtual cockpit' - that will throw up a ton of brilliant creations.

The 737 experience mentioned earlier by Allen is definately worth having. also anything by David Maltby or Milton Schupe. try using the search function on this site it can save alot of time.
You also mentioned payware? for big iron it doesnt get any better than PMDG. For GA I've not yet been disappointed with anything by Carenado
There is just to many to list but this is a great place to them.

If you want a challenge the I would suggest The Ready for pushback B747-200 that was made freeware. But I must warn you this is a complicated aircraft and not for a beginner. This was set up so much like the real thing that you can not use CRTL E to start the engines you have to follow exact procedures that the real thing would use. It does take a while to learn how to use it but it is a awesome aircraft and loaded with all kinds of switches that actually do something other than just make a sound. 8-)

Wow thanks alot guys for these answers, tipps and more .

Well I don't want something toooooo complicated but I am more then willing to spend some time to figure out an aircraft how to fly it and so on.

I remember I had a concorde Payware can't remember from who but I never got that bird up in the air and once I did it stalled and crashed onto the ground....

The latest one I have in payware is the wilco A380. Nice airplane and good modell and nice extra sounds but somehow weird to fly, feels sometimes like a paper plane as it twists around all of a sudden really quickly but MASSIVE :)

I have feel in love with PMDG 747 queen of the sky , that plane just looks sick but hopefully when i buy it it won't be that hard to start up and fly.

Is PMDG into proffesional flying experience or somehwat in the middle ? I know they put a lot of details into their planes which is good but I am not so sure if it's for I can say an intermediate player ?

cheers

Well, RFP may be freeware, but note the first pic...

And because it doesn't find those items, it works like any other FS aircraft...

I have FSUIPC, not wide Client, I have not PAID for FSUIPC, nor will I ever, I think it is something MS should have provided from FS98 on!

I have never got that message and I do not have a paid version of FSUIPC either nor do I have wide client perhaps you have a older version try updating it. I know I had to update my version but can not remember the reason why. But it was not for RFP 8-)
