Better water effects? The default one is awful...

Postby neu » Sat Dec 22, 2007 1:02 pm

Hi there,

I'm using lots of different addons, so my FS2004 looks good, though I never ever found a good replacement for the default water surfaces...the shader is terrible, and even with the techology of FS2004 a better one could be done. I'm almost sure it's not only my concern, so there must be some good stuff out there, though I haven't found anything...

Any ideas are appreciated, especially with links!

...with the Water Effects Slider set to Zero = a nice BLUE water movement... ;)...!

I HATE Green water!.... >:(...!

Truthfully, most areas i've been too have greenish blue water anyway (or gray, if you're in new york!)  ;)

..the funny thing is...

.....in FS 2004, I find that if the Water slider is turned up to Max, it displays the water as being a brilliant shade of GREEN!......YUCK!..... >:(...!

So I turn the "Water" slider down to Min (Blue), and the "Land" slider up to Max, to get the best of Both Worlds... :)...!

Paul....Blue water, and Green grass... [smiley=thumbsup.gif].... ;)...!

Perfect Water is excellent as well. Get it at FS Dome's "Best of the Best Downloads" page, about halfway down. It's called perfwat.zip...Click here

Paul,

Green water in Waterzone?? Pardon the pic quality, it's focused on the water colour - here's one I snatched a couple of minutes ago in the mountains over Innsbruck, with Waterzone installed and the water effects slider to the far right...

Perhaps you've been bumping around in turbulent air too long!

Hello Micro.... :)...!

Waterzone?

What's Waterzone?

The only Water add-on I have ever used has always been "Flight Water Pro", since the days of FS '98.

I turn my Water Slider down to zero, so that I get nice blue, "moving/mobile" water.... :)...!

Many of the water effects I have tried out, (and removed), have always seemed far too extreme to me, and often cause vertical streaks (graphical anomalies) appearing in the area of the water. (These can often be seen in many of the Members screen-shots)... :o...!

Paul.....FS 2004 and "Flight Water Pro".... 8-)...!

...nice fluid, constantly flowing water.... :)...!

Hello Fs, my old fruit... ;)...!

Fortunately, most of the original "stuff" from the earlier versions of the Sim work fine in lovely old FS 2004...

...which cant be said for the dreaded FSX!.... [smiley=evil.gif]...!!

...LOL... ;D....!
