Wet Arrival

Postby aritrixa » Mon Dec 17, 2007 9:38 am

Guys..

It might be one of the stupid question...but..I have to ask  ;)

I want to have wet, cloudy and rainy day for my arrival.
I can manage to have wet, cloudy and rainy day for my departure, but when I am at the cruising altitude the weather changes to clear (or fair) till my landing at destination couple hours later.

I know that I can do by having continuous real-life weather update from internet, but this not that I am asking..

Any helps/advices/comments are highly appreciated.

Thanks.

I guess you could create your own weather.....

I did this tutorial a while back....

Have you tried using the weather themes?

One way to do this is t use Active Sky. This program will allow you to set up any weather you want at any station you want to. Or if you load your flight plan into it it will download the real weather at each waypoint on your flight path.
You can also use the weather themes and set up the weather at any point you desire. I allways had problems trying to set up more than one weather theme it seemed that it would ony take the last entry and ignore the others. Just one of the reasons why I bought Active Sky. 8-)

Wouldn't the built in weather downloader be better than nothing?

Have you turned off dynamic weather? With dynamic weather turned on if you have conditions (temp, humidity and barometric pressure) that can lead to clearing weather then the weather will clear over time. There's also a problem with Fs9 that makes it much less cloudy looking when on top of the clouds than below them. You can have it set for solid overcast and when you reach altitude it will look like partly cloudy. As you pass through the clouds on the way down it will get solid again.

I suggest looking at Active Sky too. I have it and it's a big improvement over the default weather generator. Just remember that the more weather the more drag on system resources and lower performance. With AS you can create some impressive looking weather but you will also see some impressively low Fps.
