From FSX to FS9

Postby Dwhiskie » Sat Dec 15, 2007 5:36 am

Do the jetways move or doors open?    Been using fsx  but I like getting 60+fps with everything maxed out.  Sure it dont look as pretty as fsx  but performance is way better.

There isn't much scenery animation at default airports as a rule. You need to look for things like that.
Doors on aircraft should work, try the old SHIFT+E+1/2/3/4 ;)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

You don't want to tell us that the flight danymics are soooo much better in FSX compared to FS9.....  :P 8-)

Why do you need 60+fps? Television is only 25 fps.....

Television uses motion blur to make it look smoother. Computers don't use this so you need a few fps more to make it look smooth. Of course there's not much need for excessive fps. That just robs the computer of resources it could use for something else like crisper textures. I'm perfectly happy with my sim locked at 25fps. Textures load faster and even in lower frame rate areas it seems smoother even if the fps isn't perfect. Smoothness isn't always defined by the fps number.

the best thing FSX has its realistic flight dinamics ,otherwise I would unistaled fsx already..

I don't usually fly the default airplanes so I didn't notice any improvements in the flight dynamics except for the helicopters which have improved a lot from Fs9 to FSX. For the fixed wing airplanes even in Fs9, a well tweaked air file gives more than decent flight dynamics. I did uninstall FSX but not for the fps. Those were slow but acceptable. I uninstalled because FSX took a dump with the "1733" or whatever error and wiped out my Fs9 installation along with it.  >:(

I dont need 60fps    but after checking out some of the screen shots from fs9 "with add on`s"    they look almost real.  Sure   you can add things to fsx but when you do you lose even more fps so why not just use fs9 and get all those add-ons  and when you do take a hit on fps who cares because you started with high frames.

Dont get me wrong, I can run fsx+ accelerator at around 30fps   give or take a few   but i want to do some add-ons and they really take a toll on my computer.  e6600@3.5ghz, 8800gtx, 4g of ram and vista 32      I know 32 bit cant use 4 gigs but will be upgrading to vista 64 soon
