Global Mesh help needed

Postby FSFLYER2 » Sat Dec 08, 2007 7:04 am

Recently there has been a trend on World Wide mesh coverage. Remarks are encouraging. So do I need to remove all exsisting Mesh Files in my FS9  scenery? :-/

No you don't. You make a folder in the Addon Scenery file. Call it Mesh (or something like that). Inside the Mesh folder you just made, make a folder called Scenery. Unzip all BGL files you downloaded into that Scenery folder.

Step two. Start FS9. Go to Scenery Library and add the Mesh folder. Restart FS 9.

Finished.

Just one tip. In the Scenery Library list move the Mesh to a low position just above where it says Addon Scenery. This way you prevent it from messing up other sceneries you have added.

Crash ;)

PS. This is for the worldwide mesh you can download here

Two points Crash.

Unzip all BGL files you downloaded into that Scenery folder.

I would never recommend extracting (unzipping) zipfiles direct to FS. This causes more installation problems with addons than anything else.

Just one tip. In the Scenery Library list move the Mesh to a low position just above where it says Addon Scenery. This way you prevent it from messing up other sceneries you have added.

That would actually give it a higher priority with the opposite effect.

;) It is a complicated subject. I did follow the trend on the SR mesh files and an eightGB download. Wow. So will settle for payware as recommended.
Gents can I take it that all my exsisting Mesh Files should go into a single mesh file indexed below the ...|Addon Scenery?

Crashalot; me to Thank you.

I was just being my pedantic self. You'll be fine if you follow Crash's instructions. Then your existing mesh can be easily disabled if it conflicts with payware mesh.
