"Not Responding" not helping my mental stability

Postby Kaworu » Sat Dec 01, 2007 3:12 pm

Hello all.

My FS9 has stopped working. It will attempt to load, but after 2-3 minutes a not responding error appears. I haven't installed any new addons since the last successful start. I was preparing to start a new scenery project, Charlotte County Airport, and I saved a flight in a piper cub to use to slew in. i then exited. I started to look up info for the airport, then stared FS up again, and got the error screen. The last aircraft I added was iFDG A319 Skybus. the last scenery added was scenery mesh for Australia and New Zealand.

Why would it work, and then not work?  :-?

Go delete the saved flight...good luck finding that though. Do you run on Vista or XP?

Delete the FS9.cfg and see if that helps...Make a backup of your current one because you will lose any tweaks you have applied ;)

Could be a number or reasons the sim has stopped working. Try the suggestions above and if neither of them work you could also try removing the scenery you were working on. Just cut/paste it out of whatever folder you put it in to a safe place. That should force FS9 to start up with the default flight. If that and none of the above works then post again and maybe someone can come up with something else to try.

In classic FS style, all it needed was the saved flight to be removed and then needed a restart. Thanks for the quick replies.

..a simple way to delete your saved flight and return to the Seattle Default is to look in the fs9.cfg for this line....

SITUATION=C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files\my start active egsy

The last bit will be YOUR saved flight......DELETE all after the SITUATION= and save the changes........

 Deleting the whole fs9.cfg would do that;  but you would lose any tweaks you made in there as well

  ............commoner ;)

BTW ..THAT line also tells you where the file is kept. :)
