HJG NOVEMBER UPLOADS .... THE "BIG SECRET" OUT !

The "BIG SECRET" is finally available for public download.

Hangar doors of HJG's virtual aviation workshops have been opened and the brand new aircraft everyone was trying to guess since September finally unveiled and rolled-out .... the "BAe 146 regional jetliner".

Although hardly a big old noisey and smokey beasts like most of HJG's classic B707/720/C135, CV880, CV990, & DC8 stable from the 1950's, 60's, and 70's, the BAe/ARJ jetliner is none-the-less modern day 4 engine classics now out of production and entering twilight years of its service to many airlines around the world. It therefore seems fitting these be honoured among HJG's great 4 engine civil aviation classics from yesteryear.

In association with highly talented Jon MURCHISON (ARNZ), panel mastercraftsman Mathias LEIBRECHT, and FS audio specialists AEROMUSICA .... HJG is proud to offer beautiful new FS9 models of both "BAe 146-300" and "BAe 146-300QT" aircraft, complete with an authentic and highly functional custom panel, high quality soundpack, and 15 superb new textures featuring both PAX and freight configured versions of aircraft which have served Australia, the British Isles and Europe, as well as the USA. In comming months HJG hope to further expand its new BAe/ARJ series flightline to include the entire family of these popular city hopper/regional aircraft with type panels to match.

An HJG website update would not be complete without releasing more of the groups long established nostalgic trademarks .... Boeing, Convair, and Douglas jetliners of carriers from around the world. Therefore featured among new releases for November are some great new textures representing these aircraft and African, Middle Eastern, and both North and South American regions .... among which include Linhas Aereas de Mocambique and Kinhasa Airways liveries for B707-320C, very early/rare liveries for Suadia Arabian Airlines B707-320C & B720B, a Colombian Air Force B707-320C, and an even rarer Saturn Airways B707-320C which despite being fully liveried during 1968 was ultimately never delivered to the airline.

HJG military matters are not overlooked either within this website update. 2 new textures featuring KC135-E & KC135-R aerial refuellers in USAF "Tiger Meet" liveries from 2001 and 2004 have also been released.

All this and a whole lot more are now available for "FREE" download and your personal FS enjoyment from the following website address :-

http://www.simviation.com/hjg/

Always HJG are greatly appreciative of all support/assistance provided by hosts Mr Pete DALEY/SIMVIATION.COM .... and the tremendous encouragement provided by our international FS community .... "THANKS EVERYONE" ! ;)

ENJOY !

Thanks for the heads up Mark.

I tried the panel posted on your site & although I'm positive I followed the instructions it locks up my FS9. Any ideas?

I've tested literally 100s of panels in my time.

Thanks guys .... "FLY2E" and "AI".

"HAGAR" .... I'm not sure what particular difficulty youy're having with the panel,but, here's a few general pointers which must be noted and adhered to ....

All 7 individual components which make up the content of the Gauges file downloaded with the main panel files .... including the CFG file too .... everything there .... "MUST" be installed inside the FS9 "GAUGES" folder .... do not put any of these gauges files inside the main aircraft Panel file as is common practice with a lot of other FS aircraft or the panel simply won't work.

All the contents of the Sound file downloaded with the main panel files "MUST" be installed inside the FS9 "SOUNDS" folder. Do not confuse this with our new/seperately downloadable BAe/ARJ soundpack though. This aircraft soundpack "MUST" be installed inside the actual BAe 146-300 "AIRCRAFT" folder as is common practice with most othert FS aircraft.

The contents of the Panel file downloaded with the main panel file (19 files in total .... 17 bitmaps and 1 PANEL.CFG file) "MUST" be installed inside the "PANEL" folder contained within the seperately downloadable BAe 146-300 "AIRCRAFT BASE PACK" .... in the process of doing so just ovewrite the default PANEL.CFG file that contained within this default Panel folder.

PLEASE NOTE: As the BAe 146 panel sound files apparently contain authentic AP disconnect tones for this aircraft typ, you should therefore open the SOUND:CFG folder contained inside our seperately downloadable "BAe 146/ARG SOUNDPACK" and identify the section named "AUTOPILOT" .... by default it will look like this ....

[AP_DISENGAGE_SOUND]
filename=caapdis
maximum_volume=12000

Change the last line (VOLUME=) so that in then looks like as is bold typed below ....

[AP_DISENGAGE_SOUND]
filename=caapdis
maximum_volume=0

This edit will then ensure the BAe 146 panel suplied AP sound is prioritized over anything else

Again I must stress .... this is a great but complex new panel. It is absolutely essential folk invest a little time to read/study the manual provided .... in order to develop a good understanding this panel and its many functions and so enjoy this aircraft to "THE MAX".

I hope the above notes will be of assistance to anyone who's unsure or may be experiencing difficultires.

Please direct any further specific queries to the "BAe 146 SUPPORT" page on the HJG forum ....

Thanks for the reply. I have done all that. As I said, I'm used to installing & testing 3rd party panels. I'm usually the one that fixes this sort of problem for others which is the reason I tried it.

I'm not the only one experiencing this problem & thought you should know about it.

OK .... if all the above notes have been followed then I'm really at a loss as to explain why you or anyone else may be exeriencing any problems at all.

Other internal conflicts within FS :-? .... or .... system variabilities ::) .... I realy don't know ! :'(

In this case I'd like you to repost

I'll have another go at it. I'm not interested in the aircraft or panel for my own use but would like to fix this purely for my own satisfaction. If I find anything I'll report back here.

We'd like to try to get to the bottom of this too "HAGAR" .... both for yours, ours, and everyones comfort, satifaction, and enjoyment .... if there really is indeed any particular problem at all to be resolved.

PLEASE .... do post a copy of your experience and virdict on the HJG "BAe 146 SUPPORT" forum.

I'd like to ensure that as much information as possible is reported and contained there for our team to look at.

Many thanks for your co-operation ! ;)

I tried it again & got it working. The problem I had is the length of time the aircraft takes to load with the panel installed, both in the Select Aircraft preview window & in FS9 itself. This gives the mistaken impression that FS9 has locked up solid & the three finger salute confirms it with the Not Responding message. If you experience anything like this give it time before quitting FS9.

AH HA .... now we're getting somewhere ! :)

YES .... I've noted it can take a minute or so for the aircraft to load up at the start of each FS session which might convey an erroneous impression to some that FS might have "HUNG". I've similarly noted it can take a little longer than normal to exit this aircraft and return to the FS Aircraft Selection Menu too.

I guess this must be due to the very intricate/complex gauge programming asociated with this new panel.

So folks .... when you load the BAe 146 aircraft into any FS flying session, be advised it may take a wee while longer to load than you're normally accustomed too .... even on a very fast system (I've noted this myself). In fact you may even think FS has "HUNG" up on you .... but .... "HANG IN THERE" and everything should continue loading normally and without any problems whatsoever.

Thanks "HAGAR" ;) .... and I hope this information helps others out too ! :)
