Hong Kong enhancments questions?

Postby DomSQ » Tue Nov 13, 2007 8:21 pm

Hi everyone,Well I decided since the Default Hong Kong airport/scenery is meh,I downloaded the Chek Lap Kok Hong Kong airport by Thomas Kwong here: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DL ... fs2004scen

I've installed it all ok,but I also want to further enhance Kong Kong by downloading some mesh for it,this is the Mesh I want to download : http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DL ... fs2004scen

When I finished downloading the mesh, and opened up the zip it only contains a bgl file named "hongkong10.bgl" I'm wondering how do I install that because theres no instructions in the Mesh zip.

I appreciate the replys

Put a new folder in Addon Scenery .... call it Mesh for want of a better title.... In that put another folder and call it scenery and place the BGL file in there.

Go through the procedure for adding scenery in the sim and add the Mesh folder in the normal way ....... every time you get new mesh files place them in this folder and they will be added without having to restart the sim every time.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The easiest way to do this is to first make a folder in your ADDON scenery folder and call it MESH_FILES and then inside that folder put a scenery folder and a texture folder then any mesh file you want to add just put in that folder. By doing it this way you only have to activate it once as if you add a file it will automatically activate upon FS loading 8-)

.bgl files always go in the ..\scenery\ sub-folder.

The ..\texture\ sub folder is reserved for the .bmp (or other texture formats) files if required by the .bgl files.

As your new ..\Mesh\scenery\ folder will only contain 'terrain mesh' .bgl files, which don't require textures, you only need to create the ..\scenery\ subfolder.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
