Postby a1 » Mon Oct 29, 2007 5:50 pm

Are they in any way accurate? More specificly are the 747 and 737-700 models accurate? I just want to know and if you can how do I tweek the aircraft to make them "better"?

Thanks

Depends on what you mean by accurate...I've never had any trouble flying them...If you find you can't rotate with them, make sure the flaps and trim are set for take-off...And no, you cannot modify the POSKY FDE's without their prior consent... ;)

If you do it for your own use who is to know?

I find them a little lazy/slow compared to others, payware aswell freeware, although i reckon they did a good job on the exterior.

I dislike POSKY flight dynamics quite heavily. Roll and turn rates are WAY too low, and the spoilers are WAY to powerful. Get an alternative FD.

The ERJ is quiet better in them regards tho.

I think you should not modify there FDs. Either leave them are get an entirely new one, because, unless you know exactly what you're doing you're probably going to make the FD worse not better.

THE ONLY WAY TO MODIFY THE FLIGHT DYNAMICS OF ANY AIRCRAFT YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL FILES USED TO MAKE THEM.
True you can use programs like AIRED to edit the air files with and you can make changes in the aircraft cfg file that will help to a degree but YOU CAN NOT ALTAR THE MODEL as you need the source file used to create it. And most designers will not give you that. 8-)

Gary,
The model itself has no effect whatsoever on the flying characteristics. You can design a 200 foot long house brick in GMAX and still have it flying like a 777 if the flight dynamics are right.

a1,
I agree with Doug (and slotback) that for your own private use, you would be better off designing and using your own dynamics for the Posky aircraft that you can't get on with - I've done this for their 747s and 737s and they are now much better IMHO.

I stress - this would be for personal use only and you shouldn't then try to distribute it without Posky's permission, which I'm sure you wouldn't get.

;)
