The default aircraft don't have high quality Virtual Cockpits. They are ok, but not the high quality you see from certain payware packages.

So I'm sorry, there is no way to get them to a really high quality.

Crash ;)

Go into the sim's display settings, click on the aircraft tab, and move the slider for V/C cockpit gauge quality. See if that helps. (If it's already maxxed, I'm not sure what to do .)

A lot of freeware and payware planes have far superior VCs to the default models. To see what the best possible VC looks like get either the RealAir Spitfire or SF260. It'll blow your mind ;) ;D

If you use our search facility you could look for anything by Rick Piper and Milton Shupe & Co for great kites with amazing VCs ;)

That depends on several things. I'm no expert, but after several years of dealing with Geforce2 GC, I've found a balance between quality of looks and quality of play. Just find what works for you. If it looks great but you get 2 FPS than there is no point in playing. Also, MANY people (me included) adjust their settings in FS when they take a screenshot, so your regular playing sim will probably look less pretty. Their are more knowledgeable people out heir though, so good luck.  :)
