Traffic questions

Postby 757200ba » Wed Oct 31, 2007 9:20 am

Hi!!.My questions are:
If we delete the files that make the default heavy traffic, the 3rd party ai will flow better ( so better performance), if yes, what are the traffic files to delete.
Many thanks

...mmm....you'll have a funny old world with no traffic at the airports you visit :-?  Apart from the ones you put in there.........a hell of a job to populate the whole world with 3rd party AI planes..rather you than me.......and don't see any benefit. The 3rd party AI planes such as Project AI follow the set flight plans so it won't change that.........

If you want to see how it goes just rename the file Traffic030528.bgl to Traffic030528bak.bgl or whatever you want.

It's in the Fs9/scenery/world/scenery folder.....

 enjoy.............commoner :D

There is only 1 default traffic file, 'traffic030528.bgl'. Removing it will eliminate default GA traffic as well as the default commercial traffic.

..better flow?... only in as much as removing it will help declutter your arrivals and departures, and they will np longer compete with your add-on ai for 'assigned parking'.

..better performance?.. fewer aircraft=better performance, and ac models designed specifically for ai are generally easier to render (fewer polys=better frame rates).

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

...although that is correct you could get TTools which decompiles the 'traffic030528.bgl' into three text files Aircraft..Airports  and Flight plans..........these could be modified to get rid of just the heavies  if you so wanted and then recompiled into the 'traffic030528.bgl' ............

There used to be a utility for removing/restoring default traffic posted on the PAI website. Not sure it's still available.
