Aircraft creeping

Does anyone out there know how to prevent aircraft from creeping, even though the engines are at idle with park brake on  :-?

Simple question....

Which type of aircraft...?

All of them, or just one, or one type, in particular...?

Note: Aeroplanes with fitted with Turbine engines will often creep forward. Piston props don't!...

Piston aircraft appear to be ok, but most others seem to move very slowly forward : :)


My favourite type of aircraft which I ALWAYS fly, are Piston Props, so no problem for me...ever... ;)...!

When flying Turbine engined aircraft (awful things!...) it is necessary to be very familiar with use of the engine controls, the Throttle, and especially the "Condition" lever, etc...!

Much too complicated, and annoying for me*... ;D...!

F....Cessna 172, Beech Baron, etc.... 8-)...!

* The default Cessna 208 is a typical example!
It requires a detailed knowledge of the use of all the levers to prevent "creep" on the ground...and sufficient power on take-off!

Thought it might've been programming problem, but you're probably right.

It's a program problem................ Last night on night shift, I did a high power run up on a 737-800, brakes on and she did not move one inch.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Did the Airport Authority know that you had crept into one of the parked 737's, on Night-Shift, and fiddled with the controls in the Cockpit... :o...!

Set the idle to "low" for taxiing and parking.. move it back to "high" for take-off and in-flight.

That will keep the KingAir and Caravan from "creeping".
