That link for the FS9.1 patch seems to be broken now... well nothing was there... can anyone help?  If you want improved graphics you could do worse than get the Omega drivers for your card...made a big difference for me and so did upgrading to 1.5gig RAM :)

Hi Gismo..thought this thread as dead by now..if you want to upgrade your FS9 to FS9.1 then you should find the download on this page at Microsoft....      http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2004_update9.1_english.asp#download

On the other hand if it is the NO CD patch you want then you should get it here   http://www.ceaero.com.br/dow_outr.shtml     ..make sure you get the right one eh..commoner ;)

Perhaps help is out of the window, but I have a small problem with panels.

I recently installed the 9.1patch but can no longer see any panels :(
They were fine without the patch, yet i can't see them now :(

Any ideas?

BTW, the reason help may be out of the window, I'm running on a GeForce4 MX 440-SE ;)

Cheers,

Carl

I don't know about you all but I have not had any problems with the new patch. I have an awsome average frame rate of 20-40 and I have the scenery on very dence with high effects. Everything works fine. With my awsome computer that is.

Re: FS9 patch DOWNLOAD a different experience

Postby rlstuart » Fri Mar 25, 2005 12:22 pm

Well, I had a different experience, but maybe it adds to the backgrd info.  I was aware of some of this, but upgraded from 2000 anyway.  I assumed what I bought was 9.0.  Went through all kinds of problems doing the upgrade and installing the upgrade patch for No-CD.  Finally - reinstalled OS and FS. Then added No-CD patch for FS9.0 as that is what I thought I had.  It worked, and all worked fine.  So I am missing some bridges, so what.  Well I saw one of the bridges and so checked and it turns out the new store copy 29.95 is FS9.1 and the ORIGINAL - No-CD works with it fine.  Nothing lost!!
Hope this is helpful to some.

...sounds to me like some guys will NEVER catch on to the facts of this issue....

Fact1....There is an UPDATE PATCH which makes FS9 into FS9.1 (this has NOTHING to do with NOCD .exe file.)

Fact 2....There is an NOCD.exe file allowing FS9 to run without the cd in the drive.

Fact 3....There is a different NOCD.exe file which allows  FS9.1 to work without the CD in the drive.

...THAT is how it should be done...and the links to these different files are on my last post higher up this page...commoner  :)

:) ;) :D ;D

a little bit yeah...but don't epect nothing stunning....
maybe 1 to 5 fps tops!!
That's caused by a diferent autogen file and some minor modifications.....
Nothing so special, but I do think it's important to have it...
Although there are some guys who claimed a huge performance increase, I'll take me as an expl, my system runs quite well at 21/23 fps, since I've installed the patch it's very locked at 25 (my lock position), even in the heaviest airports and heavie traffic the average fps is close to 25 (23.5 - 24.7 more or less)

cya!

Here's what I noticed on installation of the patch.

Like many, I never rush out and get anything new, especially when it comes to updates/patches. Waited on this one too.

Installed it this morn. I had to reload my weather.dll as mine was modified. No biggie.

Installed patch, got NEW nocd patch and latest version of FSUIPC.

Runs great............EXCEPT........I noticed I have lost all of my PAI acft. in the sim. Still in the folders but no PAI flights.

Will have to try and figure this one out later today.

Anyone else experience a loss of their installed PAI acft./flights?

I got all the goodies and all the power I need to run anything thrown at me for the next two months!

Well seeing how this as been brought back to life, I'm curious as to whether or not I should go and install this update?
Now mind you I have had no problems since I originally installed FS9 I have the basic lag here and there but nothing major, now is there any reason why I should or why I shouldn't give this update a try? I can always use a increase in FPS ;)

My main concern is the fact that I have USA Extreme Landscapes installed which I really enjoy, does adding this update take any of that away? Reason I ask is that after reading the info at the MS site they say that 3rd party stuff may either take away from the update or vice versa.
Im also curious about multiplayer, can I fly online with someone who may still run Ver 9.0 even if I have Ver. 9.1?

Also what can I expect not to work after updating?
Will this update render add-ons or anything useless (basically should I just do a complete uninstall/reinstall) or can I apply this update and expect all my add-on aircraft, eye candy tweaks, config tweaks etc to function as normal?

And last but not least what is the definitive process to install the patch with the least risk of problems?

Thanks in advance!

I think that if you bought FS9 recently, it may already be upgraded to 9.1. My installation is new and it runs with the 9.1 no-CD patch, so I'm guessing it's 9.1 out of the box.
