Heres one for you all. Installed 2004 last night. All working ok then just doing a perfect approach into Heathrow all of a sudden program shuts itself down and sends error report. Lets just say the whole thing almost went out of the window!!!! I am running a Pentium 4 256 Nvieda graphics and 1 gig of ram. 20 Gig hard drive. I am fairly computer iliterate! Before i installed i totally cleaned my computer out re-booted XP etc de fragmented hard drive got rid of old programs etc. I had the same problem every now and then with 2002 pro. Any ideas as i don't want it to happen again. Thanks.

Hi,
I just installed FS9 last night. I am confused with the term I see here "No Cd Patch" what does that mean?  I did the upgrade, but my problem is this. I installed FS9 in drive D because I had more room there. So I had to do a custom install, and I did the complete install, but I still have to have disk 4 in the cd drive for FS9 to work. What did I do wrong? Does this have anyhting to do with the "No CD Patch"?

Regards,

Chief

HI Commoner,

Yes, you have answered my question. I found the patch, but being a newbie can you please help me throught the process of replacing the origional FS.exe file?  Should I remove it and save it first, and then install the new noCD.exe?
Or can you refer me to where I can get help.
Thank you so much for your help!

Regards,

Chief

Hi Commoner,
I don't know what is going on, I did everything as you told me.
Renamed FS9.exe and installed the new one, I know it is there because I went back to make sure it was installed and it asked if i wanted to overwrite it. Anyway when I try to start FS9 the opening screen of the DC-3 comes up but the program wont start  :-[ , any ideas??

How are you starting FS9? Not using the old shortcut?  Did you double-click on the  new FS9.exe in the main folder or what? Does it start if you go back to the normal method with the cd and the NOCD file  removed?

If you read further back in this thread you will find that others have had problems with it, but that method works fine for me........here's the relevant bit of my FS9 Folder otherwise I'm stumped....that is if you installed the file ok.

Thank you Commoner,

I am still working on it, can't seem to get it right. My folder looks just like yours. I guess there is something I am not doing right.
But, much thanks for your help!

I'm not sure if it's attributed to the patch or not, but it's recently started to happen...

When I save a flight and check the 'Make Default Flight' box, it doesn't actually save it as the default flight.

Chief....Guess you aren't the only one to have problems with it  :(.........did you try it without the "FS9 patch" installed?...you could try getting the NO CD from another source or even a new download of it from the same source...what I mean is it could be a "bad" file you have.... ???  commoner.

Words like "clutching" and "straw" are starting to spring to mind here  ;D ;D

Well after a long day of reinstalling a clean version of 2004 then the update, various models, and ultimate traffic.............   it sucks!

My frame rates appear slower, infact Heathrow is crippling the game. down to 5fps and that is no good.
Looks like i picked the wrong weekend to quit sniffing glue. lol

Any ideas would be appreciated.
