DME Arc - how to fly?

Postby wolfipilot » Thu Sep 20, 2007 10:02 am

Hi guys -

have you ever tried to approad ILS Rwy 16 in LFSB (Basle-Mulhouse / France) ?? For details see http://www.vacc-sag.org/airport-info-and-charts/LFSB ...

What I do not understand is the way from the holding pattern at ALTIK to the inbound ILS - here the chart states not a stright line but a 9 DME Arc, thus a constant curve to fly. Of course I can have the GPS done that, but there must be a way to do that by regular instruments, using your DME and ...???

Any deeper information available on that, any tricks?

Thanx
