Is this common?

Well..my FS9 always shuts off my comp whenever i start up my flight..

The flight will load up..then shut down..and i have no idea what is causing this..

I have about 500 screenshots..maybe deleting some of these will help? i deleted everything i dont use..but to no avail..

You just reinstalled right? Did you remember the 9.1 patch? Might help. As far as screenshots go, they shouldn't make any difference, so long as your not VERY low on disk space. Is this a new system, or just a new install? If you have any new hardware components, make sure the drivers are right and properly installed. Usually, the CTD problems are what the patch fixes, but you say your system is rebooting? hmmm. PSU maybe? Or even spyware?

I never ran the update/patch from the main directory, but always from a seperate HDD. It works like a charm. So I don't think it matters that much from where you run it.

I think he mean's make sure FS9 is installed in the default directory, because that's were the patch installs to. Let us know how you make out.

Huh. Every instance in where I've read about the patcher being run from the desktop or some other directory, it causes damage to the sim in some way or form. I had it happen to me once, and it's only repairable with full reinstall :-/

Which should be fixed by the 9.1 patch

If it was a memory leak (which is by itself highly unlikely - I was just throwing it out there as a slight possiblity) it could also be because of a problem with his hardware, in which case the patch wouldn't fix the memory leak.

Yes I have had a similar problem with conflicts in the Scenery.cfg file? Like the AF2_???? Could you try an earlier scenery.cfg file you saved?
