Downloading Aircraft

Hi
      I am running fsx and fs 2004 on Vista.  Every time I download an aircraft file then try and open it the screen starts to pulse and flash and I have to re-start my computer to stop it. Would anyone know what causes this?

I personally cant say for certain, but here are my thoughts:

You said your running FSX and FS2004 on Vista. This pulsing you speak of, does it happen in both FSX and FS2004 in Vista? Or does it just happen in one version of FS? Also, could you provide a link to the aircraft you downloaded? That way others who run on Vista might be able to replicate what your seeing.

Also, might seem kind of simple, but have you updated your video drivers lately?

           Thank you so much for the reply. Yes it happens when down loading all files from FS download sites!! They download ok but pulsing and flashing starts as soon as I try to open the file even if I save it. I
have not updated any drivers (not sure how to do this!!)
