CTD

Postby FsNovice » Fri Sep 14, 2007 10:53 am

My Fs2004 has been working fine for ages now, but for no good reason today i keep getting a CTD. Intially, it simply wouldnt load and would CTD, so i deleted fs9.cfg in my application data folder. All was well(?) so i went to change all the settings back to what i had before as i had got everything setup how i wanted it. So i closed down, and reloaded, but no settings had saved and it wouldnt go to the default flight page on loading and so on. Went into settings again and they were all as they were before i changed them. Tried manually editing the new fs9.cfg, but to no avail. i have my old fs9.cfg.txt saved, would it be worth reinstating this and seeing if it works, its really irriating me. Thanks Guys, this is a very rare thing to happen on my pc, normally works a treat.

Still happening, thought it had resolved itself, but oh no, exchanged for a backed up copy of the fs9.cfg. worked great once, now settings arent saving, and still getting CTD's every so often(random time frames). Its on truly random buttons though. No logic as to what buttons trigger it, Create a flight for example trigger it.

Have you installed any new add-ons lately? Try removing them and see what happens... ;)

How recently Ashar, havent installed any new planes recently, installed Gatwick payware scenery two weeks ago i think, but no problems cropped up from that. I will unistall it anyway and see what happens. I will also at the same time, remove all non default planes from my hanger. I'll report back.

thanks ashar, worked a treat. unistalled the gatwick scenery and relocated the aircraft that arent default to another location. I think its all working, using the old fs9.cfg, but how do i delete the default flight, as i have moved the plane for the default flight!
