Superfortress Mania

Postby Kaworu » Mon Sep 10, 2007 6:46 am

Hi everybody! I've just downloaded The b-29 Package by Tom Kohler (spelling? Sorry). I really love it! I've got a bit of a problem...It doesn't turn! Is it supposed to? Even if it isn't, I would love to edit it so that it can. It's nosewheel is animated, so I don't see why it wouldn't turn. Any help would be great, I couldn't figure this out if my life depended on it!;)

I got bored with black  ;)

One thing that might help is to use the diffarental brakes or in simpler tirms the left and right brakes. I myself have not had this problem, my B-29 turns fine. But I hope this helps.

Hi UFL......looks like another contact point tweak is required.........in the aircraft.cfg look for the part as in my pic....then either take out the rem marks .. // ..from the line of numbers under where it says 'steerable nose wheel'......that will allow the a/c to turn but no animation...OR change the 180 where highlighted red to some other number...try 50. This will give animation to the nose wheel and let the a/c turn with the stick............hope this helps.......commoner ;)

It worked, but now my VC is messed up. I can't adjust the view using F1View. It just springs back to the angle it was at originally. It is getting late, so I will turn in. I'll work on it some more tomorrow. Thanks Commoner!  ;D At least it turns!  ;)

.........mmm......don't use that particular module but can't see why changing the contact point for the front wheel could possibly affect how  F1View works..............maybe some "boffin" with greater savvy than me can explain!.........commoner  :-? :-/:o

..UPDATE.....I have now installed F1View and find no problem with the VC............did you accidentally change something else I wonder? ...and is F1view still working on your other planes? If your problem continues it is a simple matter to reinstall both the plane and F1view..............BTW F1view is quite a cute little module...might keep it now........commoner  ;)

It's great, isn't it! ;D

Thanks for your ongoing help commoner! You're a fs genius (at least, compared to me!  ::))!

I'll see what's happening in it now. Got a dentist appointment soon though...arrrg...life.  ;)

Well, It fixed itself. Weird how things work out! All is well that ends well  :)
