uninstalling aircraft

Postby Kreeft62 » Wed Sep 05, 2007 3:35 pm

Hallo;

I have installed the Grumman F9F by Aeroplane Heaven.(Fs9 Military page 153)
I have a problem with it,so i want it to uninstall.
How do i do that without Fs9 start complaining that it cant find it the next time i start up.

Thanks

That's what I do, but in some cases I've found that if the CD is still in the CD player, then it won't let you delete it (says something or someone is using the program). To fix that, I take out the CD and reboot the CPU. Then I can delete the AC I no longer want.

The reason I found that it says something or someone is using the program is because i still had the aircraft selected in the aircraft selection menu, once i chose another aircraft it let me delete the aircraft.

Back to the orignal question, to completely remove a aircraft off the Harddrive i go to :-

Start - My Computer - Local Disk - Program Files - Microsoft Games - Flight Simulator 9 - Aircraft, then i found the aircraft i want to get rid of, click it once and press the delete key.

This shouldn't happen if you exit FS9 before attempting to delete anything.

Hi there. Removing addon aircraft by deleting their folders should cause no problems providing you're not using the aircraft you removed in your default flight. I'm more interested in what the problem is with the Aeroplane Heaven Panther & why you wish to remove it. I'm downloading the file now to check it out.

Tanks guy's

The problem was that i was using the plane in default flight

Hagar;

Fs9 was complaining at startup he has found some not functional software.
Pointing to Cfo_gauges.gau in the gauges folder.
The problem came up after the install of the Grumman F9F.

I got the same message. This is not really a problem. That gauge is for CFS2 only & is not compatible with FS9. I would delete the gauge rather than the complete aircraft.

PS. If you install this aircraft direct to FS9 using the auto-installer it will overwrite several default files including Uninstal.exe. This might give problems if you ever wish to uninstall FS9.
