Effects Issues

Postby chrism7262 » Thu Aug 30, 2007 5:23 pm

hey all. recently i've been having a few problems with the effects on some of the aircraft i have after i install another one. the effects (afterburners, wingtip contrails, vapor and others) only work when the aircraft lights are turned on. for example when the lights are on and the throttle is at full, the afterburners show up, but they also show up when the throttle is at idle. the wingtip contrails are constantly going too, even during straight, level, and low speed flight (again only when the lights are on). does anyone know how i can fix it?

any help would be great!!  ;D

No only you have that issue ,In FSX I had the f-14 to see the fire flames ,I had to turn the light on too.
I think its has to be something in the desighning..

Can you be more specific as to which aircraft. Some designers use, just as an example, certain light functions to activate things like A/B or contrails. Others (most in fact) tend to use the smoke system to activate these effects. Some even have gauges that will turn on effects that are only noted in the lights section. So we would really need to know which models you're talking about to be able to help. ;)

On a side note, most of the effects you see are referenced to in the aircraft.cfg file.

like the F-5, F-20 and F-14B. however, they worked before i installed some other aircraft, but then after when i flew them again, the effects were activated by the lights.

Did these "suspect" aircraft come packed in auto installers by any chance? Also, can you be more specific still. There are many different versions and designers of the models you're talking about. Your best bet would probably be to download and install the planes that don't work right anymore. Chances are, the aircraft you added after those, overwrote certain effects or other files.
