Problem with my smoke system

Postby Flying Buckeye » Wed Aug 29, 2007 3:10 pm

I installed the ai thunderbirds package from nemai and now my airshow smoke ,fx_smoke_whi, shows up in short puffs instead of a steady stream. Please help.

If you mean the file "fx_smoke_w.fx, then I suspect the AI package you talking about, overwrote the original effect with one that is easier on framerates. You can get the old one back from FS9/Disc1/MSGAME1.cab,

It is not a default smoke file, it is called fx_smoke_whi. It is from an airshow smoke add on by Siegfried Vlamnick. It worked good until I added the Thunderbird ai package.I tried deleting the package and renaming the smoke file but it still won't work right.

I just downloaded both, and I now as puzzled as you are! The T-birds pack needs the effect from Mr. Vlaminck's add-on, so nothing was over written. have you deleted and rebuilt your fs9.cfg lately? If so make sure you have your effects slider all the way up in the sim. That could do it too.

Edit* Just tried the airshow smoke on my extra 300, looks pretty "puffy" even without the Thunderbirds pack.
