EB-52 and no undercarriage

Postby athro » Mon Aug 27, 2007 4:53 pm

I have searched all over for Dale Brown`s EB-52 Megafortress to use in FS2004 - So far I have  found the perfect model for FS2002 and have put it in FS2004 and it works fine - the only problem is it does not have any undercarriage!!! Just floats above the runway!
Is there a "fix" for this ?
Kind regards
athro

This can happen with a few models from fs8. I don't believe there is a fix for it, if I have got the same file as you.
Possibly, somebody with more experience that us can enlighten us!  ;)

Hi Athro.......this often happens when using fs8 models in fs9.........when you first selected the a/c you probably got a warning about incompatibility and a Yes or No option...you should have clicked NO but probably as many do clicked YES.

If this is so then open the FS9.cfg file and look for the section ...

[FrameCallNoWarn]
EB52V3=0

.....if you have the same plane as mine it will have the entry for the EB52V3=0 as shown.........change the 0 to 1....EB52V3=1  this will give you the U/C.

If that isn't the plane then look for yours in the list..........commoner ;)

BTW....I have EB52_v3.zip  the 4 engine version...there is the 8 engine version on the same page here on SimV.

Hi Commoner
Really appreciate you taking time out to help me with this
I am using the EV52V2 and EB52V3 by Chris Loomis
It`s the 8 engine version I really want to use
Do you mean the Aircraft.cfg in the EB52V3 folder ? If so I cannot find the item that needs to be changed.

Hi Athro. The problem is with the animation on early FS2002 aircraft. I suspect both versions will have the same problem.

No, he means fs9.cfg. Check out the FAQ at the top of this forum menu. Assuming you're using WinXP the default location will be C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\fs9.cfg

....yes the fs9.cfg.....where Hagar says it is............make a shortcut to it on your desk top when you find it. You will need to refer or tweak it many times in the future........commoner ;)
