Seeking Help

Postby videokid1969 » Wed Aug 22, 2007 3:09 am

For a couple of months now, I have been trying to add the textures of the USCG that can be found on  page 8 of the FS2004 Military and the Blue Angels C130 ( Fat Albert) which is on page 23 of the same area. To  Mike Stones Lockheed C-130h Hercules which can be found on page 4 of the military downloads of FS2004, all the textures say they are for this aircraft and it is driving me nuts :o . I have with no problems added textures to other aircraft and they work fine I just for some reason can't master these two and I am frustrated  >:( , I have updated the aircraft then added the textures didn't work. I even tried to add the textures then update the aircraft still no go :'( . So if some one could give me some pointers or maybe tell me where I can goo to just download a C-130 Hercules all ready painted in the Blue Angels, and the USCG colors that would be great.

Thank you for any help anybody can give me.

I just tried the C-130 & variations you mention & think I see the problem. First make sure you installed the base model correctly. Note this comes with two variations, with & without tanks, using different models (model.clean & model.tanks). These should be listed on the selection menu under
Lockheed
C-130

USAF
USAF (tanks)

Install the repaints in the usual way, not forgetting to change the header number to the next in sequence. Note that the sample Aircraft.cfg entries do not define which model the variation will use. You will have to add them to the model= line like this for them to work. You can use either model but the repaints seem to be for the clean version.

[fltsim.2]
title=Lockheed HC-130H USCG
sim=c130
model=clean
panel=
sound=
texture=USCG
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=1517
atc_airline=COAST GUARD
atc_flight_number=1517
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed
ui_type=HC-130H
ui_variation=US Coast Guard
description=USCG HC-130H Stationed at Barbers Point
atc_heavy=0
atc_parking_types=GATE,RAMP

[fltsim.3]
title=Lockheed C-130 Blue Angels
sim=c130
model=clean
panel=
sound=
texture=angels
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=N700MS
atc_airline=USMarines
atc_flight_number=1123
atc_parking_types=GATE,RAMP
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed
ui_type=C-130
ui_variation=USMarines
description=
atc_heavy=0

Also note that the USCG variation will be listed separately on the menu like this:

Lockheed
HC-130H
US Coast Guard

You can change this if you wish by editing the ui_type entry in Aircraft.cfg

Hope this helps.
