Hurricane Dean

Postby a1 » Mon Aug 20, 2007 12:25 am

I am flying through hurricane Dean right now and i must say it's awesome.  ;D It is currently a class 4 hurricane so the winds are one of the biggest I have seen. I took my best turbo prop out the Beech Baron 58 Turbo and flew in it for a while. I'll have more to say after I reach the eye or somewhere i don't want to be. ;D

I am waiting a little bit longer to see if the wind speed will get any higher but I do have plans to take a dive into the unforgiving storm.  ;D ;D ;D

Why not post a pic - here's mine taken a couple of days ago, when the hurricane was just starting to become a real threat.

I tried to find it earlier today. I started off in Havana and went towards Cancun. I encountered some wind and lightning but nothing of hurricane magnitude.

Hi

It will have to be within range of the nearest weather station for the location you are at.
If it isn't, you will only get weather that is before (or after) the storm.
When it was at 18.2, 85.1 I had winds of only 23. I don't know what the weather station was, but it wasn't picking up the storm yet.
