FS2004 Piper PA22 Tri-Pacer Package.

Postby Bob70 » Sat Aug 04, 2007 9:28 pm

I downloaded this aircraft package to FS2004 and I'm having a problem with frame rates. I start out with frames in the fifties and after flying for a few minutes the frames drop off to five to ten FPS. This is only happening with this aircraft. It even froze up the FS9 program once and I had tp reboot it. I was hoping I could get it to work in FSX but it won't even run right in FS9. Any Idea's? As far as I can tell It auto installed with no problems. Has anyone else had this problem? Also has anyone tried to run it in FSX?

FS2004 Piper PA22 Tri-Pacer Package. The Tri-Pacer is a remarkable aircraft with performance that matches or exceeds that of its contemporary all metal Cessna 172. It is a full seven feet shorter in length then a 172 and takes off in a shorter distance with a higher cruise speed. The Tri-Pacer wins over its pilots with its performance and it is a delight to fly an aircraft that can get airborne fully loaded in 1,220 feet and land over a 50 foot barrier in 1,280 feet. It stalls at 48 mph and best rate of climb is at 84 mph when it can get 620 feet per minute. At 7,000 and 75% power it will true out at 132 mph and its service ceiling is 15,000. Today it remains popular as a classic aircraft. By Lynn and Bill Lyons. 11.9MB

Some systems have problems with the Radio Cd player. Disable the gauge (radiocd22.gau) by removing  the file from the \Gauges\ folder and see if this solves your problem. (This is mentioned in the 'PA22READ.htm' that comes with the aircraft.)

Alternately, you could try reducing your target frame rate to the often suggested 24-30 fps. With the extra time, the system may be able to better cope with the gauge.

As for FSX- you get warnings on several gauges and there are a few issues with textures, but the gauges all seem to work and it flys fine.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Ah the old radio cd player.  Got rid of that thing when I had the plane and everything was miraculously amazing!

Thanks for the tips. To late now, but will give it another shot tomorrow and let you all know if that solved the problem.
