Instructor's Station

Postby murjax » Sun Jul 29, 2007 7:54 pm

I was reading this book and on page 144 it talks about flight emergencies and it says
(Flight Simulator 2004 also comes with a special multiplayer mode called Instuctor's Station that emulates the functionality of flight-training simulators costing tens of thousands of dollars. feature allows a user on one computer to create system faliures on a second user's computer.
So I believe they're saying I can simply cause problems for other people on a mulitplayer session but they don't explain how to do it and I've looked in the Learning Center and everything. How do I do this?

I had a quick look in the FS9 root folder and saw there is an Instruct.ico. It's only an icon though, it doesn't do anything. Maybe it's on one of the cd's?

Crash ;)

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Just experimented a bit on my lan.

Basically, the instructor hosts and the student joins the mp session.

The instructor then monitors the students flight on his 'instructors screen' and can set/change weather conditions and failures.

Presumably, the instructor would then teach the student, using the chat window or TS,

Well at least I found it but the only way I can get it to work is if I create a session using that and you all know how making sessions with fs always goes.  ::)
