Unloadable dfd_crmidm.gau.

I installed Horst Paetzold's Lear 35 panel into Mike Stone's jobby & get a message about this gauge & its subsequent disablement.     What does it do, please?
Thanks.

It just disables that gauge nothing else, so thats one less working thing on that panel.

You didn't extract it if it was a .cab file did you?

The gauge 'dfd_crmidme.gau' is an older gauge. To make it work in FS2002/FS2004 you need the module 'fssound.dll' in your ...\Modules\ folder.

Then open your FS9.cfg file either find or create the [OLDMODULES] section header and add the following line below the header.

[OLDMODULES]
fssound.dll=1

I don't know of a good direct source for fssound.dll but some FS2002 and FS2004 panel or aircraft downloads that require it will include it.

Dave

Found this link: FSGlider.de....scroll down and get the 'FSSound.dll und SOARRec.dll' download

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Thanks for info.   It's not a cab file.   My cfg has "old modules/ fssound.dll=1" but it still will not load.    I have a fssound.dll in the modules folder too, which is why I wondered what this file was for & it's the first time I've had this particular warning.  As far as I can see the auto throttle/speed hold & the ias/mach buttons don't work.

Thanks for the link Dave but I have kept some fssound.dlls in My Documents just in case!

Ref the gauge-it is DME2 located in the upper right of the panel, just above the asi. As to why it's still not working for you, maybe the fssound.dll version. Mine is ver 1.5.0.1 and the gauge loads and works fine.

The auto throttle requires edits to the 'aircraft.cfg'. It should read......

[autopilot]
autopilot_available=1
flight_director_available=1
default_vertical_speed=1800.0
autothrottle_available=1
