clouds

Postby uncleyuk » Wed Jul 25, 2007 10:54 am

:D  Lately I've been experiencing a white, hazy appearance in my skies wherever I'm flying.  This is on a clear setting in the weather settings.  My setting is on unlimited in the user defined weather.  I did add a cloud program a month or two ago but this didn't occur until a couple of days ago.  As far as other addons, there isn't any.  If all else fails is there a very good freeware program out there for sky and cloud textures?

Just stick with defualt weather or if needbe buy Active Sky. I stay with defualt.

This hazy stuff might be vapor trail from your or other aircraft.

Are you using FSUIPC? It might be overriding some of your settings

Default clouds are really not the the best way to go. They are nice if you have no Internet connection, but FS Skyworld is a good starting point. Also check out how to make your own weather themes with the Flight Simulator Weather Themes SDK. You can get it here

But remember ... visibility is hardly ever 'unlimited' and the distance is always sort of hazy ;)

:D  I'm downloading the SDK as I speak.  I ran an addon for sky enviornment and it cleared it up.  As a rule I prefer a distance haze but in this case it was extreme.  I think it may have been a conflict of an old addon I installed.  I hadn't ran the "Gray and Rainy" ,or something like that, weather for awhile and the problem appeared right after I went back to the "clear" or "fair skies" setting.  I appreciate the advise.
