I'm not quite sure what you mean.  My Harrier's jet nozzles are controlled by my flaps controls.  Lowering flaps (incrementally) points the nozzles backward  whilst raising flaps points the nozzles back down.  Your speed obviously depends on your use of the throttles!   ::)

Replicating the true characteristics of the Harrier is just about impossible in FS because of the way flight dynamics are programmed, but there are some guages available that do this very well. Not sure where to find them though, a google search hasn't brought up anything. Perhaps someone else knows...  :)

I got my controls mixed up - flaps down = nozzles down, etc, but I did have a Harrier that would hover with reduced fuel from scratch.   It was a bit dicey to control but would fly to a hover from speed if controlled properly & took some time to get it right!!    I've played with 3 or 4 & they all behaved differently so I'd guess it's down to who made it.    

I've seen gauges at Avsim when searching for Glenn Copeland's gauges.
