They do display at both north & south poles, but seem to have no rhyme nor reason as to when they show up - I took these over CYZF in December, but have seen them in middle of summer as well, even with the "midnight sun" phenomenon. Try changing the dates/times and even restarting FS9, these might help start a light show.

I think that the best place will be around the Alaska region, but i have seen them off the coast of Scotland

I fly to Antarctic ice bases a lot in the sim. The south pole has some great lights, especially about 250 miles east of McMurdo Base (sorry, can't remember the spelling)

My wife wants to go to see them for real, for our tenth wedding anniversary next year. I'm thinking about Norway...

I had no idea the northern lights could appear in FX9 :D  

Might have to take a trip up to the North and hangout for a month hoping to see them.
