A350 cant hold speed

Postby Etienne62 » Sat Jun 30, 2007 4:33 pm

Hi all,
I've downloaded the A350s and i can't get the speed to hold when using the autothrottle/autopilot. It just keeps accelerating. I've tried 2 different panels, but i suppose its an aircraft issue. Anyone know how i can fix this?
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanx.
Stephen.

I have the same problem with a Vans B727-200RE. I have an awesome panel for it, it is a great plane, but I cannot get the A/T to hold no matter what. I think there is something missing in the aircraft.cfg, but I have no idea how to edit this file to correct the problem. I don't think it is the panel config, because I have tried different panels with this plane, I  have the same glitch no A/T. Also, I can't get this plane to work with FDC Livecockpit!!! that really sucks!!! I have set the flaps to match the plane as FDC will not connect if the flaps don't match, but i have matched the flaps and still no connection. I refuse to delete this plane I WILL get it to work I just need some advice on correcting these problems. If I get any info. on this issue I will be sure to post it here for you!

1. Turn the autopilot ON.
2. Set the speed in the selector.
3. Turn ON the auto throttle switch.
4. Turn ON the speed/IAS/Mach hold switch.

Whenever there's something NOT in the aircraft.cfg file, there are defaults (no auto-throttle is probably a default).

From the default 737's

You said that list of aircraft have no auto-throttles and that is true.

Hi Brett,
I've put in the text that you give into the aircraft config file, replacing what was there, but it still will not hold the speed that i set as the IAS. With autopilot engaged, speed button pressed and auto throttle armed....
Can't see why.
Thanx too to everyone else for their advice.
Stephen.

There's a missing piece to this puzzle.

Under what conditions is it failing to hold ?  Are you asking it to maintain too high an airspeed while climbing ?

Will it hold airspeed while in level cruise ?

Hi Brett,
I'm trying to hold 250kts at level  9000ft. It seems to hold airspeed whilst climbing, but when it levels out, the speed starts creeping up.

Hi,
Yes all the lights are working, and i'm set to indicated airspeed. I will try the default 777 panel and get back to you.
Thanx.
