Airport FPS

I get good FPS when I fly around the big cities in spot view. I pan around and all of that stuff then when i panned across an airport the FPS drop. This is not one of those FPS lost landings this is just viewing an airport from about 20mi away and losing FPS. I have FS9 v9.1. What is wrong and how do I fix?

Turn down you AI planes.  All those polygons take CPU power.   ;)

Maybe missing textures that are common to all airports?

Run "filemon" and go past an airport and then look at the file access log and see if something shows "not found".
