Missplaced Tour Eiffel?

Postby fabiane » Sat Jun 09, 2007 3:49 pm

Hm, I just noticed that the Tour Eiffel in Paris is missplaced in my sim. Is that a general bug in FS9 or did I ruin that myself? It should be in the park near my tail in the pics.

Anyone has a guess?

Thanks for the help,

Greetings,

Fabian

Ozzy, I know some of your exploits are legendary, but I'd really love to see a screen shot of that!

Fabian, I get the same view as you and comparing the view in FS to Google Earth the Eiffel Tower appears to be in the correct location. Just the surrounding scenery is generic and doesn't match.

The park you point out is Les Invalides, with the Grand Palais across the river, to the north.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Hmmm. I tried to fly under it several times and eventually settled on a JetRanger.

You can't do it.  I got a "building crash" even with the JetRanger 10 feet off the ground and 10 knots.

You could fly under it if you turned off crash detection but then you would really be flying through it and the sim would only detect a ground collision.

Ozzy, those screen shots are amazing. Not even a scratch on the paintwork!
I bet you've even got full no-claims bonus.

Cheers.

I've been hooning around devising and demonstrating criminally insane stunts for many years. Why do you think my aerobatics tutorial is considered one of the maddest but most accurate for FS on the net? ;D

It would seem to be the way. It's the same on mine. So you haven't messed up your sim.
